What does Che-Chem mean? Che-Chem is the Mayan name for black poisonwood (Metopium brownei).
We chose this name because our company is located in the ancient Mayan territory, an area that extends from Mexico and Belize to Guatemala.
The Mayas used a lot of different wood species for their daily needs. Che-Chem Wood revives this heritage with its products, bringing a personal touch in the design and in the quality of finishes.
